Batam — PaxOcean has successfully delivered Hull NP8009, a 3,500LT DWT Product Oil Tanker on 12 October 2016 in the PaxOcean Pertama yard at Tanjung Uncang, Batam, ahead of schedule.
Guests at the event included Mr Subagjo Hari Moeljanto, President Director of PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK); Mr Agus Pranoto, VP Operation Shipping from PT Pertamina (Persero); Mr Siswoyo, Director of Operations of PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental and Mr Mamoru Matsuo, President Director of NKK Indonesia (NKK).
Mr Tan Thai Yong, CEO of PaxOcean Holdings Pte Ltd, said, “Our fellow colleagues have once again demonstrated their capabilities and determination by delivering this tanker ahead of schedule to the satisfaction of our premium customer.”
Speeches delivered during the ceremony by VIP guest Mr Subagjo Hari Moeljanto, President Director of PTK and Mr Mamoru Matsuo, President Director of NKK echoed the same sentiment. Mr Subagjo said in his speech, “Today we are pleased as the delivery of the 3,500 deadweight ton Tanker can be ahead of schedule. .. I would like to thank to all parties involved in this project especially team from PaxOcean and also our superintendents on site (sic).” The event was capped off with prayers before the vessel name was revealed and the signatories of the yard and owner officially signed off the documents, marking the successful delivery of the vessel.
The early delivery of Transko Arafura has defied the norms in current market conditions.

Transko Arafura will commence her charter in the region of Northern Sumatra or Kalimantan and surrounding areas to support the operational activities of PT Pertamina Shipping. Transko Arafura is a 3,500 long ton deadweight product oil tanker of 90m length, designed to carry up to 3 different grades of product oil in one cargo shipment.
